Students who have completed the Woodwork 101 class can take this course to add more functionality to their cutting boards. This class introduces them to the world of CNC machining. Using Inkscape, a free and open-source design application, students will create features such as a juice groove and pockets for food items. They will then use SheetCAM to generate the CNC program for machining their design. If students prefer not to use their existing cutting board, they have the option to create a new one as part of their membership. The class is designed to be simple and approachable, ensuring students are not overwhelmed with complex CAD and CAM operations.
